Happy new year! We hope you had a lovely festive period and are slowly getting back into your routine, whatever that might consist of!
As one of our main aims at Furniturelink Surrey is to help to reduce landfill waste, we thought we would start the year off by sharing four benefits of reducing landfill waste, and hope to inspire you to make small but important changes too!
1. Prevents pollution!
By recycling where you can, old goods can be broken down and used to make new items. This helps to minimise the need to harvest new raw materials.
2. Saves energy!
Making products using recycled materials requires less energy than making products from scratch!
3. Reduces greenhouse gases!
Greenhouse gases are one of the main drivers of climate change and landfill waste is one of the largest sources of methane, a greenhouse gas that is far worse than carbon dioxide!
4. Helps sustain the environment for future generations!
By doing what we can now to protect our environment, we are creating a more secure future for generations to come.
