Christmas is fast approaching and as we head into December, we wanted to share a few tips to help you shop savvy this Christmas and head into January without that financial 'hangover' that the festive period can bring!
1. Plan Ahead!
Planning ahead when it comes to Christmas shopping is a great way to stay organised. Make a list (and check it twice) of all the people you need/want to buy for and set a budget for each individual and stick to it!
2. Spend within your means!
Don't put yourself into debt or financial trouble to give your loved ones presents. Everyone has different budgets when it comes to Christmas and you should never feel pressured to spend more than you can afford. Remember, Christmas is so much more than gift-giving and friends and relatives will be grateful for any gift no matter how much it costs!
3. Don't rule out shopping secondhand!
Shopping secondhand should definitely be a consideration when Christmas shopping and sticking to a budget! There are so many hidden gems to be found when shopping secondhand and for a fraction of the price! Here's some of our suggestions for shopping secondhand.

4. Don't be hasty!
Have you found the perfect gift for your loved one? Don't hit that 'buy' button straight away! Explore around to find the best deal, you could find the same item available for a better price, even if you only save a pound or two, every saving counts when you're Christmas shopping!
5. Handmade gifts!
Have you got a creative flair? Why not channel your creativity and make some handmade gifts! Not only could you save some money, but you will give your loved ones a gift from the heart...you may even discover you could make extra pennies from your creations in the new year!
6. Take advantage of sales!
More often than not, there will always be some type of sale happening either online or in-store. Never feel ashamed to browse the sale rails when shopping for gifts, you never know what you could find! You could even secure the perfect present for that difficult to-buy-for person in your life!
7. Support small!
Before heading to the big organisations this Christmas, be sure to check out small businesses in your local area first! I have always found such beautiful gifts for loved ones from small businesses, spent less money without compromising quality and felt great knowing my purchase is greatly appreciated by the owner!
